What I Have Learned About Action Research

Action Research is a new concept for me, just like using technological devices. I think usually, I use the more traditional type of research. What I have learned from action research so far is that it helps to have more than one person trying to figure out the best possible strategy to implement in a school setting. I collaborate with my peers sometimes, but often I try to come up with the answer myself. I need to use my colleagues in every situation available to come with the best diagnosis and then as a group solve the problem together. As we are assessing the situation, we can reflect on what worked and what didn't work. I am an adaptive behavior teacher, so I could use action research to help observe, instruct, and communicate with my students by collaborating with my peers, doing online research, and and using different strategies to help my students be more successful. I am also in a few teams, such as the MERT Team (Medical Emergency Response Team), where we could use action research to make sure that we are using the best appropriate strategies on handling emergencies. I always think that there is always a better idea, just have to fid it. The more I use action research, the more confident I will become.
